In 2003 Phil went to visit his cousin at Sick Kids Hospital [toronto]. He was battaling Leukimia [cancer of the blood cells]. He went to visit one boy; it was personal. When he got to the hospital he was overwhelmed at how many children were 'fighting for their lives.'
It is connected to Sunshine Dreams For Kids. Phil sells at high schools for $1. Students and staff write positive messages on the High 5 and then Phil delivers them to hospitals across North America. Reaching out to young children - making powerful connections that could last a life-time.
Some children's dreams are more elusive than others. Living with a severe physical disability or life-threatening illness, these children have little opportunity to make their own dreams come true. That's what makes them special.
Sunshine Dreams for Kids was created so these children could have a chance to see their once-in-a-lifetime dream come true. Since 1987, we have helped to fulfill the dreams of over to 6,000 children.
Dreams come true through the generosity of people like you. Visit their website today, you can find out more about the Sunshine organization, our dream fulfillment activities, and the volunteers, sponsors and other fundraising activities that make it possible to bring Sunshine to the lives of Canadian children.
Open your heart and let the Sunshine in!
