Leadership

This is Phil's most intimate presentation, sharing personal failures as a leader to highlight that leadership is not just about planning events.  It is about the people who come to those events, the people who don't come and the people who put it together.

Phil wrote a very successful book based on this presentation called, "Leading Your Life", which is now on it's 2nd Edition and being used in curriculum in leadership classes in Canada, United States and Australia.

To get info on using this program & book as a part of your curriculum, please email Phil directly.

All 2nd Edition books have a full activity & challenge section included.

"WOW!"

Hey Philly D! I'm Abby, a grade 9 student! About a year ago I went to an FCCLA convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was pretty bored while I was there but when I saw you get up on stage and start speaking, I was like "WOW".  Your speech really taught me something.

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I pulled your book out and I read all of it in about an hour. Now I realize that if I take CONTROL, share COMPASSION, hold my head high with CONFIDENCE, and  display my COURAGE, people will have more respect for me instead of looking down on me.  In the hour that it took me to read your powerful book, you made a HUGE impact on my life. Thank you soo much for that!

I needed to boost my confidence, and definitely increase my courage, share compassion and most of all..take control of my actions & my words!

After listening to your powerful speech and reading your book, I feel like I have become a positive and stronger person. PLEASE don't stop your motivational speaking because I know you impacted the 10 000 people that were in that arena a year ago and your book continues to impact.

"This program literally changed my life.  Thank You."

"I have heard a lot of speakers; all of whom I thought had something to teach me and in some way impacted me.

This was equally true in listening to you, however, not only was I impacted, I also found a desire to impact others.

Your 4 C"s really got up in my face (metaphorically of course) and challenged me to be better. I accepted that challenge Phil and my life has forever changed. Thank you!"

"They will not remember what you said,
but they will never forget how you made them feel."

-Carl Buchner-

The foundation of this presentation is based on the above quote.
This intimate program is full of emotion, humour and truth.  Philly D will challenge each participant to take a look at their personal leadership because how you lead your life will affect how you lead others.

What Are The 4 C’s To Successful Leadership?

C1 - CONTROL
You can always gain control. It doesn't feel that way as a teenager because you still have to follow your parent's rules.  However, leadership is not about having control of the rules or control of material things. You control your actions and your words.  Phil challenges the audience to take notice of who they use their words, actions and attitude to influence & affect  others.

C2 - COMPASSION
Compassion is at the heart of leadership. If you are leading, that means people are following. How do you treat those people? Phil take the audience on his journey of ‘compassion.’  The story is a intimate one about a great friend who committed suicide.  It’s deals with the ‘labels’ we attach to people.

Here Philly D touches upon the cliché, "What you give is what you get back." What are you giving to yourself? What are you giving to others?

C3 - CONFIDENCE
The compassion you share is directly linked to confidence. Philly D gives examples of how you can build your confidence and help build up others' confidence in the same journey.  It is the small things YOU CAN DO that will make the BIGGEST difference, so Phil talks about those small things YOU CAN DO as leaders.

C4 - COURAGE
Peer pressure is a tough thing to face. It takes courage to stand up and be the person you want to be. It takes courage to be honest with yourself. It will take courage to create positive change in yourself, that's why it is our fourth "C." Philly D will show your audience we can all show our courage in many different ways.
